Shainin Karnai

With over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry and an extensive teaching background, Shainin brings a wealth of knowledge and a well-rounded perspective to fashion education. She holds a master’s degree in Cross-Disciplinary Art and Design from the University of New South Wales, Australia, where she curated a thesis project that showcased cross-disciplinary fashion events, fostering critical thinking, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills. Her academic achievements also include a Business Administration degree with a specialization in Marketing from Simon Fraser University and a diploma in Fashion Design and Clothing Technology from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Her teaching excellence has been recognized with two Industry Originator Award nominations by Vancouver Fashion Week. 

Shainin was the creative force behind Souldaisy, an acclaimed women’s ready-to-wear collection known for its appeal to a young, contemporary clientele and its emphasis on natural fabrics and inventive detailing. Shainin continues to engage in creative exploration and crafting capsule collections. Her active participation in the local and international fashion industry ensures she remains at the forefront of design and marketing trends, enriching her teaching approach and inspiring her students to innovate and excel.
