Roohollah (Rumi) Merrikhpour is a senior industrial designer and project manager with over 15 years of experience spanning product design, furniture design, UX, sustainable design, and wood-based construction. His work bridges design, engineering, and material innovation, with a strong focus on thoughtful, scalable solutions. Rumi holds advanced degrees in industrial design, interdisciplinary design, and integrated wood design, and has developed his practice through academic study and professional work across multiple international contexts. He is the co-founder of Ritoon Design Studio, where he has led the design and production of products/projects presented at major international design exhibitions and fairs.
His work has been recognized with multiple design awards, and he has served as a jury member for A’ Design Award program in Como, Italy, since 2019. Alongside professional practice, Rumi has an extensive teaching background, having lectured on a wide range of design topics at leading universities. Currently he continues to work at the intersection of design, engineering, education, and project leadership, with a particular interest in sustainable materials and integrated wood design.
