Jab Figueroa brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience in architectural and interior design to his role as faculty. As Architectural + Design Manager for a national non-profit organization, he has led local and remote teams across multiple time zones, overseeing institutional, office, and multi-use developments from concept through construction. His work

emphasizes technical precision in building envelope systems, fire-rated assemblies, and code compliance. He has also contributed to the development of CAD standards and training programs adopted by professionals across Canada and internationally. Jab’s academic foundation in civil engineering, complemented by studies in architectural and graphic design, informs his methodical and detail-oriented approach to design education.

His career spans roles in construction, landscape design, and community based volunteer work, with extensive experience in construction detailing, design documentation, and project management for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Jab has also played a key role in organizational change management and software development, including beta testing and technical support for proprietary CAD platforms. He is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and mentoring future designers in the integration of technical rigor, creative problem-solving, and socially responsible design practices.
