Diego has a background in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Materials Engineering. He spent the first portion of his career in the oil & gas industry, with roles in engineering, materials failure analysis and research & development. Being passionate about sustainability and the outdoors, Diego eventually made a career shift to the outdoor industry and moved to Canada in 2018, where he attended the Technical Apparel Design program at KPU.
Since then, Diego has held positions at Mustang Survival, G3 Genuine Guide Gear and currently at Arc’teryx Equipment, continuously expanding his experience in product development, commercialization and quality. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are Diego’s strong suit, which come in handy when resolving issues typically encountered during product development cycles, product testing and product certification.
Diego’s passion about gear is fueled by his passion about mountain sports, particularly mountain biking, rock climbing and skiing. In the intersection between sustainability, outdoor gear and mountain sports is where Diego’s professional and personal life overlap, and lines get blurred.
