Lin worked extensively across Vancouver’s apparel sector as a contract pattern maker and production technician, specializing in manual and Gerber-based drafting, grading, marker making, and 3D garment simulation. She served as General Manager and Lead Pattern Maker at Dampkring Designs, where she developed custom patterns, coordinated sample production, and supported a wide range of independent designers and small businesses. Lin has also worked with technical apparel, knits, eveningwear, custom garments, and embroidery production.
Since 2015, Lin has taught at several institutions—including LaSalle College Vancouver, John Casablancas Institute, Visual College of Art and Design, and Vancouver Community College—offering courses in digital pattern making, production management, and CLO3D/ Gerber AccuMark. She is known for her clear demonstrations, structured curriculum development, and ability to support learners with diverse skill levels and learning styles.
Lin is currently completing her Master of Design at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, where her research explores how to make digital fashion tools more accessible. Her project proposes a gamified learning system paired with a visual quick-guide textbook designed to make complex creative software more intuitive, enjoyable, and inclusive.
