Michael Pope has a long history with KPU, first as an alumnus of the fashion program prior to it becoming a degree. After 8 years in the apparel industry he returned to get his undergrad in design, simultaneously working on his teaching credential, achieving both in 2003. He immediately began teaching at KPU and has seen many amazing fashion graduates change the face of the local apparel industry. One of the most exciting things he has witnessed during his time at KPU is the development and success of the Wilson School of Design.
Michael is passionate about fostering the creative aspects of design process and takes immense satisfaction in witnessing how students grow and develop into citizens of the world during their time at the Wilson School of Design. He continues to stay curious through the engagement of his students. Michael was the grateful recipient of the 2022 Industry Originator Award, for service and recognition to those who have contributed to the advancement of the local market.
