The impact I want to make as a designer is to bring awareness to Chinese Cultures in Vancouver. Currently, I’m passionate about educating people about the artistry of Hanfu and its history. Hanfu is a form of traditional Chinese clothing from the Han ethnic group. Unfortunately, the history of this clothing has been lost in our culture. I want to bring this style back by utilizing fashion design practices to present this through the pieces I make today. It is important to bring this beautiful traditional clothing back to represent the Han culture. I believe that Hanfu is not only a piece of clothing, but more like the feeling of belongingness, togetherness, and pride.
