Beauty can be found anywhere, as long as your approach is with an open mind and open heart. I will admit though, this can be especially hard if you find yourself to be overwhelmed by your own inner critique. There's in fact a Japanese saying that I find myself referring back to all too often: Wabi Sabi. It is the world view that there's beauty to be found in all aspects of imperfection. I do my best to take on this notion and apply it to all areas of my life, especially during moments of self-doubt. Overtime, I’ve noticed that there lies a lot of power within this mental shift to open mindedness and acceptance. It’s a quality that I would like to bring with me into my design career, and to be able to share my findings and interpretation of beauty with others as well.
