Connecting creativity with future careers is the focus of an event happening at Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Richmond campus on Nov. 2.

Creative Connections is a collaborative event showcasing programs in KPU’s Faculty of Arts and the Wilson School of Design. The event will feature info sessions, hands-on workshops led by faculty, campus tours, interactive demos and an opportunity to connect with KPU alumni working in creative industries.

Attendees will also have the chance to receive personalized feedback on their portfolio, writing samples, design projects or artworks at the event’s “portfolio pit-stops.”

Programs featured will include Creative Writing, Music, Fine Arts, Fashion & Technology, Fashion Marketing, Foundations in Design, Graphic Design for Marketing, Interior Design, Product Design, Technical Apparel Design, Front-End Development for Interactive Application, and Entertainment Arts.

“Creative Connections offers a unique opportunity for prospective students to explore the innovative and hands-on learning environments we cultivate at the Wilson School of Design,” says Andhra Goundrey, Dean of the Wilson School of Design.

This event is a chance to showcase how design and creativity are integrated into meaningful career paths. We’re excited to welcome attendees to experience our dynamic programs firsthand, and to meet the talented alumni who have turned their creative passions into successful careers.

“In the Faculty of Arts, we believe that creativity is at the heart of many exciting and thriving career paths,” says Dr. Shelley Boyd, Dean of the Faculty of Arts. “Creative Connections is an opportunity to highlight those diverse pathways students can take, whether in writing, music, fine arts, or entertainment arts, and how these disciplines can lead to rewarding and impactful futures. We are eager to connect with aspiring students and share how KPU’s programs can help them shape their creative futures.”

Creative Connections will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at KPU Richmond, 8771 Lansdowne Rd. The event is free, but guests are asked to register in advance.
