Hello, I’m Rhianna Uy and with Fashion Marketing, I took one of my biggest passions and transformed it on a technical and educational level. The program allowed me to gain a new perspective on what I truly value and the reasons behind who I am today. From dabbling into the many ventures of the industry, I discovered my top skills and how I work as a creative individual. To me, fashion is now artwork, a way of storytelling, and a critical part of history that is continuously evolving with our surroundings.


A fashion forecasts predicts a look, behaviour, mood, and buying habits based on past and current data, patterns, and history. ‘Groovy Uplift’ is a S/S 2024 women’s swimwear forecast that focuses on bold statements that reflect the optimism and feel-good themes of the 60’s and 70’s. This was one of my favourite projects to work on. It combined my visual eye with my curiosity for history and knowledge. It got me to view fashion as an ever changing entity that moves with the waves of societal, cultural, political, technological and economic trends. Developing my research skills, I have now acquired a list of the industry’s most reliable and interesting voices, which I used as validation for the forecast’s accompanying written narrative. I started with what I saw around me, not only in the fashion industry, but in the present world. I recognized these bursts of energy and colour in our lives and this strong attraction to vintage touches, especially from the 1960’s and 1970’s. After discovering a connection between the two through my research, I designed a colourful swimwear forecast related to mood-boosting experiences and physical and nostalgic escapism.
